What QuietCheck actually detects
Smart glasses
Matches Bluetooth advertising signals against known manufacturer identifiers for smart-glasses hardware (e.g. Meta Ray-Ban, Snap Spectacles).
Bluetooth trackers
Detects trackers like Tile and Chipolo by their broadcast manufacturer identifiers.
Drones
Parses the standardized ASTM F3411 Remote ID broadcast that most drones now transmit over Bluetooth.
Hidden cameras
An optional camera-and-flashlight "lens glint" scan that helps spot potential hidden-camera lenses, though it's not a guaranteed detection.
Every detection mechanism is proximity-only by design. QuietCheck can only notice what's physically near the phone it's running on, right now, and it has no way to look up, locate, or monitor a specific device or person anywhere else. Built to protect your privacy, not spend it
Almost everything QuietCheck does happens entirely on your iPhone, with no network access at all. No analytics SDK, no ad SDK, no tracking of any kind. A handful of optional features do talk to a server (signature-database sync, anonymous feedback, and an opt-in community sighting map), and the Privacy page spells out exactly what each one sends.
